about me

Maria Peng

Hi, my name is Maria! I'm a sophomore at Barnard College of Columbia University studying economics and sociology. I'm passionate about understanding the business behind ‘cultural relevance’, building the strategy behind a brand or campaign, and investigating the socioeconomic ripple effects of what we watch, listen to, and buy.

Professionally, I'm exploring consulting, strategy and operations, and marketing roles in entertainment, TMT, and consumer brands. Whether I'm digging into market research, shaping how a product launches, or helping a startup grow, I make sure cool things find their home in the audiences they were made for.

When I'm not working, you can find me between flips at cheer practice, baking up my newest bread creation or soaking up as much knowledge as I can between the three cities I call home - NYC, Vancouver, and Shenzhen.
